Don’t Join ACN Until You See This
ACN was founded in 1993 by four entrepreneurs, Greg Provenzano, Robert Stevanovski, Mike Cupisz and Tony Cupisz. ACN is one of the fastest growing telecommunications companies in the U.S. ACN offers a variety of services in the telecommunications industry, including. Local and long distance phone services. Digital phone, internet, satellite TV as well as mobile phone service. ACN currently offers services in 12 countries though out the world. Some of these include Canada, Australia, Poland and Sweden.
ACN has a business model that allows distributors to join for a fee and bring customers to the company by offering them to friends and family. This was a stroke of absolute genius by the founders. Rather than paying for advertising like traditional telecommunication companies do. ACN actually charges $499.99 for a distributor to become active within their company. Once they become active they actually earn money by recruiting other distributors and by bringing in customers for the services. Distributors are not allowed to market the services buy must only talk to friends and family for customer acquisition. When a distributor enrolls a new distributor he may make a portion of the enrollment fee by helping to get the new distributor qualified. Qualifications change regularly but do involve acquiring a certain number of customers within a giving time frame. If this qualification is not met, the enrollment fee rolls directly up to the company.
That is what makes this business model so genius. I do not know what the percentage of new distributors that actually qualify is, but I’m sure based on network marketing success figures as a whole that it’s not very high. Meaning that ACN makes a significant income as a result of the failure of new distributors. Although the opportunity is there for all to do well, this fact still makes me somewhat suspect.
For helping new distributors get started, ACN teaches what are these days considered old school methods, by using hotel meetings and home meetings to introduce people to the opportunity. The problem that I found with this was that there is no alternative for new distributors. They live or die by this method. There are so many more tools to use to build a business in this day and age. Obviously the World Wide Web is huge assets that can help many individuals build a business.
As a whole I find ACN to be the provider of reasonable services. The business opportunity in my opinion is decent with possibility for some to make money. Many will fail however and I think ACN is well aware of this and actually counts on it for a certain portion of their revenue. For this reason I would seriously look elsewhere if looking to get started with a home based business. You are sure to find other opportunities better than ACN.
